Happy Turkey Day!

Unfortunately, I had to work Thanksgiving day at the hospital but had a good time spending it with my co-workers and tiny patients.  My husband and children traveled to Spartanburg to spend the day with all of the Poole family.  I am sad I had to miss out on seeing everybody but loved the pictures I was sent throughout the day!  Now to prepare for Christmas... we may have to be creative on our decorations since we have a very active 9m old in the house!

Go Tigers!

As part of the National Championship Golf Team, Stephen was recognized at the Clemson vs. GA Tech game in October.  We made it a family event and took Matt to his first Clemson game!  He "tailgated" for about 2 hours and then his Aunt Marie picked him up and watched him the rest of the night.  Emily, on the other hand, was in LOVE.  She loved every aspect of being at Clemson and being at the football game.  She has been before, but was not interested until this year.  She loved the football players, the baton twirlers, the cheerleaders, and especially the band.  She honestly did not want to leave at halftime, but it was cold so we convinced her to.  It was an awesome experience to be able to take her out onto the field before the game-- she couldn't get over how "huge" the football players were and loved being down there.  I literally cannot wait to take her back to another game next year-- hopefully she will want to go to Clemson one day!

On the way to see the Tigers play!

Checking out the stadium before the game.

9 Months

My baby has grown WAY too fast, and I already feel like he isn't a baby anymore!  At nine months old, this little guy is ON THE MOVE.  He is into stuff before you can even blink.  Unfortunately, he loves the dog bowls, Emily's trampoline, the treadmill, the iRobot vacuum, and electrical outlets.  Besides a few falls here and there, we haven't had any drastic injuries yet.  I never really had to "baby proof" my house for Emily, but for Matt-- we are going to need some stock in baby proofing items for how much I am going to have to buy.   At 9 months old, he is:

  • Crawling very fast..
  • Cruising furniture
  • Climbing anything possible (and has no fear of heights)
  • Has 4 teeth with more coming in
  • Weighs 21lb (60%), 28.5in long (50%)
  • Wants to eat everything you eat, but spits out what he doesn't like
  • LOVES cookies of any kind
  • Only eats baby food squash, sweet potatoes, carrots, and yogurt.  Doesn't like fruits!
  • Thinks a sippy cup is still a toy :)
  • Dances to music of all kinds, including when I am trying to sing him to sleep...
  • Says "Mama", "Dada" but doesn't associate them with the person yet... soon hopefully!
  • Waves bye bye when prompted and thinks it is hilarious

Sweet Smile!

Sportin' his Clemson attire!

First time on the "big" swings

One of many doctor's visits this past month...

Sweet sleeping baby, sick with his first fever!

Getting his sweat test for CF-- negative! :)

At the doctor again...

Sick with a virus :(  Only happy when strapped to Mommy and walking on the treadmill!

This time-- fat and happy at the doctor for a well check!

Both of my babies asleep on me for nighttime-- priceless moment.

Prima Ballerina

A few weeks ago, Stephen and I got to watch Emily's progress in her dance class.  She is very much a girly, girl and she LOVES to dance.  I was worried at first that we were going to have to quit dance class because she wouldn't dance early on, but after threatening to take her dancing shoes away, she started dancing and hasn't quit!  Here is a short video of her in class:

Crawling Video

Here is a short video of him after he learned how to crawl...

Eight Months

I am so far behind on my posts!  Where to begin....  My sweet Matt Matt is now 8 months old and has had such a struggle these past two and a half months... He has remained a trooper though with smiles for everyone!  We've been to our pediatrician on an almost weekly basis, we've been to the allergist, the ENT, and we are scheduled to have a swallow study and sweat test done this week.  He's had 3 ear infections, 3 antibiotics (one which upset his little tummy), lab draws, jet neb treatments, steroids, 2 inhalers (one which we use daily), and on top of all of that- a flu shot :).  Oh, and did I mention he has more teeth coming in as well!!!  Despite all of this, he is still my smiling, sweet little boy who typically sleeps through the night and wakes up super happy and ready to start the day.  He has definitely been extra clingy and fussy on occasion but who can blame him???  He also started CRAWLING last week!!!  He is still wobbly but getting faster by the minute and is into EVERYTHING!  Literally- everything.  I can't take my eyes off of him for a second without him finding something to play with, crawling somewhere, or pulling up to stand on anything he next to him.  He actually started pulling up before he started crawling (and Stephen and I were both there when he succeeded for the first time!), but he has not started cruising furniture yet so hopefully walking is a ways away still.  I'm not ready for that yet!  If you hold his hands, he already sometimes tries to walk.  He eats A LOT of baby food 2 to 3 times a day, but I'm afraid he is going to be just as picky as his big sister.  Sometimes all I can get him to eat is yogurt, and other days he only wants vegetables.  He is not a big fan of fruit at all, except for bananas.  He loves baby puffs and does not choke on them like his big sister did!  He is VERY interested in big people food and wants to have something of whatever is on your plate.  Emily was never like this, especially this early, so maybe he won't end up a picky eater??  I can't believe Halloween/Thanksgiving/Christmas season is here-- time is flying and pretty soon I'll have a one year old, a four year old, and.... a new niece/nephew!!! :)  Congrats Ali and David- we love you so much and can't wait to meet baby Caldwell...

Loves to pull up onto Emly's trampoline.

On the move!

Looks like Daddy here.
"Where's my food Mom!?"

Sweet baby, ready for bed at Grandma's house.

How I figured out he could pull up on stuff and not to leave him alone
(He was on the rug on the far left when I walked out for a quick minute...)

Daddy dressed me!

Jumped till he "dropped"

Sweet baby, loves to cuddle with his friends!

Banana Puffs!

And not to be left out, Big Sister and Daddy!
