Emily scared her mama Thursday night, and after I ended up staying up the majority of the night monitoring her breathing, we headed back to the doctor Friday morning to see what was going on. Come to find out, my suspicions were correct, and Emily had RSV but had also developed along with it, bronchiolitis and a double ear infection Her oxygen saturations were pretty low at 89% and despite having two albuterol jet neb treatments in the office, they only improved slightly to 91%. She was so lethargic and unlike herself. Her oxygen saturations bought us an overnight stay in the hospital for monitoring. I was actually thankful to be there since I had debated all night on Thursday about taking her to the ER. They think that the combination of the ear infections and bronchiolitis put her little body into overload and she couldn't handle it all! Two shots of Rocephin antibiotic (yes, two...) later and an albuterol inhaler, we are back home. She ran a fever Tuesday through Friday, but thankfully, has not had another one since coming home yesterday. Since this is Emily's 5th ear infection, our next stop is ear tubes! Looks like our time at MCG hospital is not over yet! They are going to wait until her lungs heal before we consult with a wonderful ENT physician. Keep sweet girl in your prayers that she has a few healthy months ahead of her!
Sick in the ER, waiting on our Room!
Jet Neb Treatment at the Doctor's office
Sick baby watching Cartoons (which we don't normally do...)
Sleeping with Grandma
Thought her crib was a huge jungle gym
Feeling MUCH better and headed home!!!
As for an update on our house situation, we are still "homeless" for now and waiting on them to level on floors so they can begin laying down the new ones. Thank GOD for my parents who have helped us with our house and with taking care of our sick daughter! When it rains, it pours! Hopefully this storm is on its way out!
